About Us

Who We Are

The Founders

Blended Spirits Ranch is a manifestation of the passions shared by two sisters, Debbie Ellis and Sandy Long. The passion for saving abused and neglected horses and the passion for giving hope to children and adults whose lives and spirits are challenged by uncontrolled circumstances.

Our organization strives to be a positive influence in the community and improve the lives of individuals through Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). Since our start in 2007, we have positively influenced the lives of many children and adults.  During the same time period we have rescued and rehabilitated over fourteen horses from environments of abuse, neglect, or unwanted situations. Using natural horsemanship techniques we build healthy relationships with the horses in preparation for partnering in our EAL/EAP programs.

As a sign of support for our organization we continually attract local volunteers and financial donors who believe and support our mission. This has manifested itself in many volunteers donating countless hours over the years caring for the horses, and mentoring the children and adults who come through our programs. We have partnered and worked with clients from Sarah Reed Children's Center, Perseus House, Hermitage House, Office of Children and Youth, Veteran's Center, The Crime Victim's Center of Erie, Grace House and Urban University through the Erie City Mission, the Autism Society of Northwest PA, and Erie County Veteran's Court.

Everyone who is involved in Blended Spirits Ranch feels blessed to be able to use our passion to benefit others.  If you are interested in volunteering, or participating in our services please contact us!
