Dear Supporters and Friends,
I hope this message finds you all well. After almost 18 wonderful years as the co-founder and Executive Director of Blended Spirits Ranch, I am writing to share the news of my retirement from this role.
Throughout my time here, I have felt incredibly blessed to be chosen by God to do this work. I have always believed that Blended Spirits Ranch is His workshop for healing souls, and I am deeply thankful to have been part of His plan.
Looking back on this journey fills me with profound gratitude. Together, we’ve built a sanctuary where children and adults can heal through the wisdom of horses. I am immensely proud of all we have achieved, and your support has been the foundation of our success. Thank you for your dedication, passion, and belief in our mission.
I want to extend special recognition to my sister and co-founder, Debbie Ellis, whose vision, incredible love for horses, and commitment was vital in shaping Blended Spirits Ranch into what it is today.
I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to the Benson family—Jim, Gerda, Debbie, and Jan. I truly don’t know where Blended Spirits Ranch would be without their love and support for our horses, facility, clients, and mission. Your belief in me and our vision has meant the world. Thank you.
As I transition from my role as Executive Director, I am excited about the future of Blended Spirits Ranch. I have complete confidence in our new Executive Director, Tim Ackerman, and our talented team, including staff counselors Chelsea Ackerman, LPC, Megan Chong, LPC, Joe Campasino, LAPC, Hope Collins, LSW, our dedicated barn manager Karyn Arnold, and our loving horse caretaker Candy Weigel. Together, they will carry forward our legacy and continue to make a meaningful impact in our community.
While I am stepping down as Executive Director, I am honored to continue my passion for equine-assisted therapy both in the arena with clients and on the Board of Directors. I look forward to seeing the organization thrive under Tim’s leadership and am grateful to remain part of its journey in the years to come.
Thank you for being a vital part of this remarkable experience. I am truly grateful for your support and friendship.
Warmest regards,
Sandy Long
