Since inception, Blended Spirits Ranch has been devoted to provide a safe haven for horses to restore their spirits. The Ranch has rescued 14 horses to date from unwanted situations, abuse, and neglect. While not all of our horses are rescues, the entire herd receives the highest quality holistic care aligned with our natural horsemanship philosophy.

Please allow us to introduce Benson! Benson is a special horse in more ways than we can describe. For those who are not aware Blended Spirits Ranch has been renting the property we utilize. The family who owns the property are the Benson's. So Benson is given the namesake of the family who has helped keep this organization and our mission moving forward. Benson was also the star of the TikTok video that has reached over 29k views!

If you're anything like many of our staff and volunteers, you may have a difficult time telling the chestnuts apart in the herd. So let's play a rousing game of "Who's That Chestnut?!?" Don't worry, I won't really make you all guess.
This handsome young gelding here is Gus! If you've ever spent even a moment with Gus, you would understand how amazing this horse is. He is an unbelievable soul that words cannot describe. He is affectionately nicknamed Gus Gus and, occasionally, Gustifer.
Without further ado, we would love to introduce this magnificent young gelding. This is Cody! You may be asking why he has a special collar on. Cody developed an issue with cribbing prior to coming to us here at Blended Spirits Ranch. Cribbing is a dangerous habit that some horses can develop and this collar is specifically designed to prevent this issue. For those unfamiliar with this habit, it is when a horse bites onto a hard surface opening a special flap in the throat allowing for a rush of oxygen to hit the brain. This becomes an extremely addictive behavior and the only way to stop it is with a specialized crib collar. The collar has a thick leather piece that sits against the throat to ensure the flap stays closed in the event the horse attempts to crib. Do not worry, this does not harm them in any way and does not prevent them from eating or drinking. It is specifically designed to stop the rush of oxygen to the brain. This sudden rush of oxygen causes a sense of euphoria in the horse much like illicit drugs in humans. Cody is a fantastic horse with so much love to give!

Are you a fan of the card games at the casino? Well do we ever have the horse for you! This is Blackjack! Blackjack (Jack) is one of the sweetest geldings we have here at Blended Spirits Ranch. In the summertime he has a beautiful dark almost black coat and in the winter he becomes more brown. Jack is a horse that carries a quiet confidence about himself; his confidence has helped to unlock confidence in countless clients. He is one of those horses that you cannot help to look upon and love everything about him. Even as he canters through the arena or pasture he almost seems to say "hey did you see how good I look?!".
Sometimes, great things come in small packages! While he may be small in stature, he more than makes up it for in attitude and love. Let us introduce you all to Mini Cooper. Cooper has been with the ranch since approximately 2012. Our Co-founder Sandy Long had been out on a business trip and realized our ranch needed a miniature horse, so the search began. As luck would have it, there was a miniature horse breeder just a couple miles down the road. Cooper has touched so many lives in the years he has been at the ranch and is often a favorite among our smallest clients.

If you are a fan of the Beatles then you will fall in love with this young gelding. Please allow us to introduce you to Ringo. Ringo is a Gypsy Vanter Paint gelding. He is an absolutely handsome specimen of his breed. One of the favorite things for some of our clients and volunteers is to get Ringo to smile simply by tickling his upper lip. He is one of the sweetest and most deeply connecting horses we have in our herd. When we think of Ringo Star from the Beatles, we don't think he can hold a candle to our Ringo! (But, then again, we may be a little biased) Ringo has made a difference in so many lives since he came to Blended Spirits Ranch.
Please allow us to introduce Sven. Sven is a Belgian draft horse and by far one of the most comical horses in the herd (in our opinion, of course). Sven is an absolute treasure to our program as his size alone allows him to help all of our clients big and small. He has a quietness about him that can calm even the most chaotic mind. There are many times that he connects with individuals from a distance by quietly absorbing the hurt and offering help to heal. He exemplifies what it means to share the weight.

Please allow us the pleasure of introducing a member of the herd who truly needs no introduction. Meet Oliver! Oliver was Blended Spirits Ranch's very first rescue. While Oliver's story of how he came to join the ranch family may not be the most glamorous, the way he has touch and inspired lives is far above that. Everyone needs a shoulder to lean on every now and then, and as usual, our sweet guy Oliver is always willing to offer his support.
